Kristan is an International Design Artist with Neuma Beauty and the proud owner of K Bella Hair Studio & Spa, located in Brighton Michigan.
Kristan graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Textile and Apparel Design. Afterward, she continued her education and attended Douglas J. Aveda Institute of Lansing, Michigan. Towards the beginning of her career, Kristan was a National Platform Artist for Alfaparf Milano specializing in hair color. Currently, she is recognized as an International Design Artist with Neuma Beauty, where she travels the world educating hair stylists and students on up-styling and cutting.
Kristan opened K Bella Hair Studio & Spa in 2009 and also began her own Academy Program which trains students to become licensed cosmetologists. In 2016, she became the State Representative for licensing regulations to stop legislative changes that could hurt the beauty industry. In 2017, Kristan and her husband, Ben Sayers, began the Michigan Association of Beauty Professionals (MABP). This is a non-profit company to advocate for an association that would unite the beauty industry and help elevate the standards in Kristan’s home state of Michigan. MABP has started a petition to encourage legislators to require continuing education for the Michigan beauty industry!
After all of these accomplishments, 2018 brings the biggest adventure for Kristan as she starts her newest company, The Hair Trainer. After more than 13 years of training throughout the United States and Canada, she dreamed of being able to reach more people in her quest to educate. With the help of her husband, Kristan launched thehairtrainer.com, which has a plethora of resources to help educate stylists. She wants to share her knowledge and help anyone trying to improve their craft. In the beauty industry, trends and styles are always changing and it is important to keep your skills fresh and up to date. On this website, you’ll find video tutorials created by Kristan to show you how to cut and style everything from avantgarde to practical everyday hairstyles.
